Excellent books and speakers How the authors looked at Empathy was helpful and enlightening.
I am just so happy that I found my tribe!!
Very Cerebral
It's felt a bit like I imagine empathy speed dating would. What a generous group of authors to give of their time and energy. I hope those speakers that needed it felt an ethereal shot of empathy form the online community. I cannot attend the other summits, but walked away inspired. Thank you so much.
I appreciate the group of authors presenting their works today. I the information that we received on the literature that covers practical skills for developing empathy very valuable.
Very inspiring. I learned so much. Was exposed to authors and books I want to read.
Organized, light even if it was in zoom. Connecting, inspiring, safe emotionally
A very good learning experience, truly grateful.
I loved everything about this community
It was wonderful to hear all the different ways empathy is looked at and written about in books!
So happy to be back in the empathy fold after about a year and a half of working hard to build a business. It's time to reconnect and refresh my empathy practice. Thanks for the opportunity to recharge my empathy batteries.
The summit is a great opportunity to connect with other empathy advocates and exchange ideas. Today's summit was very thought-provoking. I learned a lot, and it gave me ideas for new initiatives, programs, and research topics.
Powerful, inspiring . So wonderful to hear and meet authors in empathy, through Empathy Circles
In the breakout I tried to express my concern that the corporate focus is not expressing empathy for those outside the roles of executives, employees, and customers or especially for those affected by corporate activities including other species via environmental consequences. I felt invalidated in the response and then had to wait for my turn to come back around, during which time I felt some pain. I still feel incomplete resolution. I am a big fan of empathy building and love it when we can create a safe space to bring our similar or differing perspectives and feelings. It's always worked beautifully when I've attended previously, but this time made me unsure that the form is adequate. I will persevere though.
Very good except the timer call via voice feels distracting for me.
I am inspired - empathy is oxygen for the soul (as Heinz Kohut famously said) and I breathe a lot freer after attending the work this morning - lot of great work being done to expand empathy in the individual and the community - the main thing missing in my life is that my name is not "Michael Ventura."
so far, so good
It is great to hear the authors' stories and how they show empathy. It is inspirational to hear their experiences and thoughts.
Amazing Speakers. In awe of this initiative.
all the authors gave amazing information

Wonderful time, as usual

Loved it. I have attended every one so far and think it is such an excellent idea. I hope you do this every year and we watch it grow and grow and grow!
Really enjoyed the 10-minute time limit for authors. This limit probably compelled them to be as concise as possible which was helpful as a listener, plus it allowed us to hear from a large number of authors. I also enjoyed the friendly-but-structured nature of the Empathy Circle. I felt well-informed about what I needed to do, and accepted as I learned to do it.
All three were well done.
It was great to hear what great awareness for how to do as sensitive person.
For me, this was such a valuable experience as authors from diverse backgrounds shared their books, leading to a variety of perspectives and each story enriched my understanding of empathy. In my eyes the authors were not just speakers, but they were connectors. Their words resonated deeply with me. A big thank you to the organizers for this enlightening event, and to the authors for their inspiring contribution!
I found Simon Baron-Cohen's presentation the most important of any of these Summits. I have seen him speak in Seattle, probably around the time his book came out, and on video. If he has any free books or eBooks available to us, I would very much like to receive one.
Fantastic!
